Feb. 5th, 2008 @ 09:14 pm Cool YouTube Video
Check out this video some of my buddies at work posted a while back:

I was impressed--most people I work with are pretty small-minded.

Current Mood: sick
I know, I haven't posted in a long damn time. Probably because sitting now causes me such severe pain, I only do it when I have to (at work and to share dinner with my wonderful guys). I have been in pain which has been worsening for over 7 months. Why? Because even modern medicine has been infected with the viral bureacracy. Ok let's try this (the handbook says). Oh, it didn't work. So now (referring to HMO manual) we refer you to the next doctor. Ok let's try this. Ok no? Let's try it again. Ok no? Ok once more (because we always try three times). Oh that didn't work? Ok er um on to the next doctor.

Ok and throughout all of it, I continually ask, ok for this one do I call them or do I wait for a call? Ok since no one told me, is there anything special I should or should not do after this procedure? Oh I'm not supposed to be taking this? Oh but this addictive one you'll just keep refilling?

Theoretically I am having surgery in a couple weeks so they can cut out a piece of a herniated disk in my lower back which, by the way, is worse now than it was when I made my original complaint in January...do ya think if we'd acted sooner maybe it wouldn't have gotten worse?

Welcome to Canada, my friends--we're already living in a socialized healthcare state...

Should have kids
You scored 90 % Parent Material!
Your high score suggests that you would be an excellent parent. Not only are you willing to put in the time and effort (and believe me, having kids is going to take plenty of both!)into raising children, but you are also willing to make necessary sacrifices. On top of that, you are patient and loving where children are concerned, and you might even have some good insights about raising them. You would have them for the right reasons (not because you feel obligated, and not so that they can take care of you, but because you really do love childen).

If you scored this high and don't want children, don't worry-nobody is going to force you to have any if you really don't want to, and you are not a "bad" person. Go ahead and read what I wrote to people who scored "shouldn't have kids," and you'll see what I mean. That being said, maybe you'd be ideal for charity work with children, like Big Brothers/Big Sisters or tutoring? Just some food for thought.

It's been a while since I've posted because I've been really busy with my new job. My great new job! I left behind the evil cliqueish bitches and now work for a mature and professional very nice person who has a sense of humor and appreciates my sense of family. Life is much better. Like an abusive relationship, you don't realize how destructive it is until you run far far away. I am so happy now!

Everyone who gives a damn about the crap that is going on in the south should write to their elected officials. Go to www.sentate.gov and www.house.gov. It's easy to find out who they are if you don't know, and you can submit your message on their web sites.

I personally asked my elected officials to represent me by asking for several people to be fired. On second thought I should have asked for criminal charges against them. Not only are they uncompassionate idiots who only care about how they sound, they are bad liars. The evidence is all there. Unfortunately Bush is asking for an investigation so he and his people can control the results. Let's hope the truth remains loud and clear. Even if you do nothing else about helping the situation, just try and keep your memory of this time and these facts intact as time passes.

Jun. 24th, 2005 @ 09:27 pm Unbelievable...
Current Mood: frustrated
My husband, [info]chris_goodwin, and I brag regularly about never having broken any bones. Well that ended this past Sunday. While taking a step off the deck I somehow bent my foot under, heard a popping sound, and fell. Startled, I couldn't figure out how I fell--I never fall. My foot hurt some but once I tried to stand it REALLY hurt, I mean like your foot is a melon being split in half by a dull knife kind of pain. Two hours of ice and elevation later, it was no better...off to the emergency room...

Yep, I broke a metatarsal, a clean and thorough break which the orthopedic surgeon tells me I should be scared about. Not only will I be on crutches and restricted for at least 4 weeks to start with, if it doesn't heal right then I will need surgery. So I stayed home all week and watched movies and watched my place of employment fall apart because I wasn't there. One morning I received over 15 calls. I have worked almost ten hours this week even though I am supposedly home sick, and my poor husband is having to carry the load of chores and childcare, plus caring for my sorry arse.

Thanks for listening to me whine. If you want to post something sympathetic, please post a note to my husband--he could definitely use it!

Well I think I'm recovering--finally and slowly, I felt like the winds changed yesterday. Unfortunaetly, those "winds" are fed by inhalant drugs my doctor prescribed, but at least I feel like I can breathe again without rattling, gurgling, and whistling sounds escaping from my trachea.

The sun is out, there's groceries in the house, and the laundry is caught up--what more can I ask for? Oh I know--I wish I had one more day of weekend. :)

Ok so I still sound like a chainsmoking grandmother...have you gotten the virus yet? Thanks to my lovely husband who shares everything with me, I am recovering from an evil virus which includes a lovely 2 1/2 days of fever and lots of hearty, robust coughing. A full week home and I am just starting to feel normal...one of my friends got it and ended up with walking pneumonia. So if anyone comes around you coughing, I have one word for you: RUN.
